Upon arrival in Costa Rica once passing migrations, baggage claim and customs, you will get to the arrival exit where you will meet and greet with our representative (holding a sign bearing your name).

Our guide will check with you your travel details, in case there is any doubt and will provide you with transportation to your hotel.

The drive from the airport to the hotel takes 25 minutes approximately.

Deep inside a protected zone, perched on the banks of its enchanting Pacuare River, lies the singular Pacuare Lodge. Early pick up from your hotel. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as the bus drives through Braulio Carrillo National Park. Along the road, you can observe many different kinds of products grown in this area such as pineapples and bananas. Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the pier and let this extraordinary exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel through the Tortuguero canals.
Upon arrival at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens, enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, you may schedule additional tours (at additional cost) or walk in the gardens, hike the trails behind the lodge or slip into a hammock set between the tropical rain forest and the Tortuguero River.

DAY 2: Morning in Tortuguero National Park.
After breakfast, leave the lodge by boat (shared with other guests), accompanied by a naturalist guide, to explore the creeks of Tortuguero National Park. The morning hours are especially active in the rain forest, when wildlife is hungry and in search of their energy source for the day. It is common to find troops of Howler monkeys in search of the tender young leaves of the Monkey Plum tree. The Northern Jacana is often perched on an island of water hyacinth, looking for insects and miniature shrimp. Caimans are often observed quietly waiting for its next meal to swim by. This guided visit will last three hours approximately; however, times may change depending on weather conditions and occupancy.
Return to the lodge for lunch.

Optional night tour:
Turtle nesting observation beach walk from July to October. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a major nesting beach for the Atlantic Green Sea Turtle up close. Tours are at 8 pm and 10 pm and are subject to weather. The Costa National Park Service is in charge of the organization; the hotel cannot chose departure times.

This service, half transfer and half excursion, is a fast and scenic way to go from La Fortuna (Arenal area) to Monteverde.
You will leave your hotel in La Fortuna, to start a minibus trip for approximately 30 minutes to the Arenal Lake.
Once at the dam, you will board a comfortable and safe pontoon-type boat, and after a 30-40 minute journey you will arrive at Chiquito River, a small community on the other side of the lake.
Arenal Lake is the largest and most important in Costa Rica, it is of artificial origin built in 1974 in order to obtain hydroelectric power for the country. It is also a place where you can find a variety of resident and migratory birds, sometimes it is possible to observe mammals like monkeys and sloths in the surroundings of the place, as well as excellent views of the Arenal Volcano when it is not cloudy.
Once in Chiquito River, you will leave the boat and continue another land transfer of approximately 1.5 hours to the hotels in the Monteverde area. (During the rainy season, this transfer may take longer).
It is recommended to wear long pants, coat, comfortable shoes, camera, binoculars, sunscreen and waterproof.
