Triple-cooked octopus in Zanzibar spiced coconut milk, raw, vegan green papaya salad, Mezze platters, cocktails designed around spices… The chefs get creative in the kitchen. From the Zanzibar Kahwa hot brew at Café LUX* to a lunch at The Beach, the varied and creative dining experiences cater to all palates.
Coming soon is ICI, our very own house brand of ice-cream and Samāa, our exquisite levantine restaurant on the beach under a starry sky. Zanzibar’s bounty is plentiful, whether it’s the tropical fruit, the local honey, or the freshly-caught seafood. We bring it all to your plate in the most creative and delicious manner possible. Think breakfast on a sandbank with your toes in the water and fabulous barbecue dinners on the beach. There’s no better way to discover a destination than through its cuisine.
The Beach
The Beach is the main restaurant. Located on the beach, near the pool, our day-to-night restaurant caters to all palates thanks to its variety. The chefs cook up contemporary dishes inspired by the Zanzibari produce and bounty, which is as fresh as can be.
The Bar
The bar serves up a menu of classic and creative drinks. Sipping a cocktail (or mocktail) is that much more enjoyable when you’re facing a shimmering lagoon. And even more so when you know the herbs came right from the resort’s herb garden. The Bar is where you can sit, catch up, relax, and just appreciate the wonders of a holiday.
Cafe LUX
They have their very own in-house coffee brand, Café LUX*. Pop by any time of the day to get your daily jolt of caffeine. They have pastries too!
Accomodation at LUX Marijani
The suites, conceived in an Arabic-meets-Swahili design, are set amidst tropical gardens, right by the beach. The whitewashed walls with their arches covered in fuchsia pink bougainvillea, evoke the island’s Arabic influences, while the locally-crafted terrazzo tiles bring in the coastal Swahili vibe.
All suites have outdoor terraces or balconies facing the beach or the tropical gardens. At sunrise, the resort is magically lit with the first rays of sun, setting the tone for the day to come.
